Take the high road when you can There’s no greater feeling than to know where you stand And just in case you have some doubt, it’s okay to scream and get it out Tolerate the pain, but make no mistake, before you throw up your hand Take the high road when you can Yes, take the high road when you can Go the distance before it’s too late There’s no better feeling than knowing you did great Working hard will pay off in the end And success will be your greatest friend Give it all you’ve got and take your best shot Leave no decision up to fate Go the distance before it’s too late And take the high road when you can And take the high road when you can Life can be rough and tough and hard We get injured and wounded and scarred Sometimes we trust too much, and it’s easy to hold a grudge But before you give in, and let your anger kick in A lesson learned can be a great start ‘Cause life can be rough and tough and hard So take the high road when you can Do the best to maintain yourself We all sometimes need a little help ‘Cause Iagos can come in too close, And to lose our cool would be a great show Keep your cards close and give them enough rope To hang themselves so high And all the while, maintain yourself And take the high road when you can And take the high road when you can Take the high road when you can There’s no greater feeling than to know where you stand And just in case you have some doubt, it’s okay to scream and get it out Tolerate the pain, but make no mistake, before you throw up your hand Take the high road when you can

Stay if you care Show me you want to, show me you’re true You treat me so kind, you feed me these lines But if you are so true Stay if you care Stay if you care It may not always be the easiest way There will be moments when you won’t want to stay But before you jump to conclusions Here is my one solution Stay if you care Stay if you care I can tell you this all I want I know that sometimes love’s just not enough But if your mind is made up I’ll let you leave ‘cause I’ll know It’ll be too late for me to say Stay if you care There are times when it’s gonna be hard And I may not think it’s in the cards For us to be together But I’ll try just the same There are times when it’s gonna be hard And I may not think it’s in the cards I’ll work and play no games Just meet me halfway, Love, please? Stay if you care Stay if you care It saddens me that you’re so easily bought That you won’t give this a real shot That when the going gets tough And the hard becomes too rough You leave without considering us I hope you remember, my Love My words, my truth, my trust That I worked to be not just me, but us And to you I laid myself bare To you I did declare, please Stay if you care

Don’t look at me I’ve seen that look before I know that look so well Those lingering glances Stand no chances with me I see you see me “Pretty” you call me But I know once I show you What’s inside of me You will leave Don’t speak to me so sweet When your tongue was wrapped up In someone else’s fun Late last night And as you quietly compliment me And touch me, oh so sly, I can hear her tears Haunting her for years to come Because your fun was more important Than her love Although I can admit That I like you just a bit I know not to act on it This is a web in which I don’t care to be entangled So don’t put me on your line Trust me, I’ll be fine Between two points a straight line works better than a triangle So don’t look at me like that I’ve seen that look before I know that look so well Those lingering glances Stand no chances with me I see you see me “Pretty” you call me But I know once I show you What’s inside of me You will leave Once again, as before One more time, less feeling One more time it ends And starts all over again So for the record Don’t look at me Yes, no, please Don’t look at me

You don’t get to know me anymore You don’t get to say hi You don’t get to say ‘bye I don’t have to hear your lies I don’t have to watch you cry You made your bed by walking out that door And furthermore, You don’t get to know me anymore You don’t get to know me anymore Boy, stop crawling ‘round my space Get your nosiness out of my face You lost your shot and all you had with me When you said you couldn’t marry me, oh boy You made your bed by walking out that door And furthermore, You don’t get to know me anymore This is how it works, kiddo What don’t you comprehend? When you call your lady old and fat You can’t really think we’d be friends after that I gave it all I got And I opened up my heart Not knowing you had those deadlines And hidden agendas right from the start You don’t get to know me anymore You don’t get to say hi You don’t get to say ‘bye I won’t listen to all of your lies And I certainly won’t pity you when you cry You made your bed by walking out that door You sealed your fate by telling me, “No more.” So without bitter adieu, and furthermore, You don’t get to know me anymore

My heart hurts a little when I see you from afar And I can’t say hi And you just walk by My heart hurts a little, and I cry a little Knowing I knew you and will know you no more Stealing a glance when I have the chance As you stand close by, not quite knowing why And wishing you would try I’ve seen you before, but I’ll know you no more Tell me when you knew, that you and me were through Did you know right away that you did not want to stay You vanished without a clue Oh tell me, Darling Blue Tell me when you could tell that we were through I hope you’ve moved on, that you’re content and well You couldn’t be better, no stormy weather On the horizon, no spell of sickness Good health, some pleasure You’re getting down to business... But you’re malcontent, but why Does your heart hurt just like mine, just like mine Don’t need to say it, but I do You didn’t need to leave, it wasn’t about you But you jumped the gun and missed your mark And left me cruelly in the dark... You’re malcontent, but why Did you hear that lonesome whistle cry And suddenly realize That we were through Because of you, it was you My heart hurts a little, because of you When I see you from afar And I can’t say hi ‘cause we’re through And you just walk by My heart hurts a little, and I cry Because of you, because we’re through It was you, it was you And now we’re through

I’m sorry I had to meet you under such tragic circumstances today I wish we could have met at another time Another place, some other way But unfortunately, it’s not This is all that we’ve got I’m watching you bury your son today I’m sorry I couldn’t do more for him in the moment he needed it most The bullet pierced his flesh Blood erupted from his chest A fate neither of us chose So here we stand today In this gruesome, tragic way I’m watching you bury your son today This is not something I’m supposed to see When will they learn? This is not something I’m supposed to see When will we learn? I knew him in the last few moments of his life I hope that he was sweet and kind and nice Neither of us knew that when the gunman fired We would all be scattered and lost and shattered and tossed around on the ground As the chaos ensued and we didn’t know what to do but we knew we might die today So I fell on my knees to pray that today was not my day As bodies fell left and right, and he happened to fall as I fought for my life While lifeless he fell on to me This is not something I’m supposed to see When will they learn? This is not something I’m supposed to see When will we learn? Condolences were offered, prayers were sent Well-wishes were given away But I’m sorry, Ma’am, I don’t understand What good any of that does now I’m sorry for your loss Keep clutching your cross As your son is laid in his grave I’m sorry for your loss I’ll keep clutching the cross As I watch you bury your son today As your son is laid in his grave I’m watching you bury your son today Yes, I’m watching you bury your son today

Hard times will come And hard times will go But nothing ever lasts As the saying goes The one we all know, “And this too shall pass.” Your head may hurt Your heart may be full Of nothing but sorrow and pain But nothing ever lasts As the saying goes, “And this too shall pass.” Chorus: You may feel overwhelming pleasure You may reap what you sow But all the joy in this world is measured You can never hold on, so let go Fruit can be ripe For only so long Before the winter comes So savor the flavor Enjoy it while you can In time it too shall pass You may find Coal in your stocking But it’s only once a year The love of your life May have sweetness in his eyes But his eyes they too shall close Chorus In the time we shared You taught me so much You gave me a reason to love You made me believe You gave me a dream I smiled again as I loved This moment, right now Is all we have to keep So cherish it before it flees My time with you I know cannot last I’ll love you, even as you leave Chorus I’m glad to know My heart still works It’s nice to feel again I slept and I wept I cried and I sighed But at least I know I’m alive This moment, right now Is all we have to keep So cherish it before it flees My time with you I know will not last I’ll love you, even when you leave Chorus

Going to sleep I don't know if I'll awake So I dream the next day I'll awake and you'll be true I like waking up next to you I like waking up next to you Some nights I stay up late just so I won't miss a beat And some nights I'll have a nightcap, and still get no sleep Insomnia is my friend and sweet dreams are my bitter end To an endless, restless night. Goodnight, Sleep tight And when the moon turns away, and decides not to stay Don't interrupt my slumber, I'll sleep some more Death and sleep are brothers and from one to another I'm not sure which one I'll come away from And in the morning as the sun, it livens my soul It brightens my sleep and it ends my dreams I feel safest knowing you're right there holding me close Just keeping me warm, shielding me from life's storms And as the day arrives, and life begins again I am thankful for, forever grateful for you, for you I like waking up next to you.

about

The creation of Siren's Song has been a long process and a complex journey to say the least, and I am happy to see it come to fruition and be released into the world. I hope you all enjoy it!!

For anyone who is feeling doubt, anxiety, stress, guilt, or grief;
or feeling lost at sea, like the waters are troubled
and you just can't breathe,
please remember that love, hope, and help can be found all around
if you let them in, and believe.

xoxo
